Corner Rounders Increase Office Safety

Wandering through the aisles of my local office supply store one day, I came across a piece of equipment called a corner rounder. I laughed at it and made a comment to the co-worker I was with about how some businesses waste money on things that they don’t need. She gave me a look that clearly said I had no idea what I was talking about and went on to tell me that the corner rounder serves an important role in increasing safety in the office.
She asked me how many times I had cut myself on the sharp corners of papers as I gave a presentation. I thought back to the way I’d sliced open my finger just days before as I pulled a stack of presentation papers out of the electric paper cutter. I conceded that she had a point. She also reminded me about how I hate using our business card cutter because I always get paper cuts from the corners of the cards while I’m working.
So yes, she had a point. There is a reason that people purchase the corner rounder for their offices; they want to keep employees safer by reducing paper cuts and other minor damages obtained on the job. This keeps employees more efficient and productive and probably helps to keep morale in the office high. That makes me wonder what other equipment is out there that I shouldn’t make fun of!
