I’m not a big fan of sexy Halloween costumes, for two reasons: One, I think they can be kind of demeaning, but two — isn’t it usually a little cold in October for that sort of thing?

Still, I guess sexy costumes are pretty popular, so maybe they have their place in Halloween celebrations. There are of course plenty of the customary sexy costumes — naughty schoolgirls, nurses, and maids — but many women come up with more unique ideas, too. For instance, you’d be surprised how sexy an adult Tinkerbell costume can be made to look (remember Tink’s infatuation with Peter? don’t tell me she wasn’t a shameless seductress!) and of course you can turn medieval clothing into a sexy costume by dressing as a barmaid with a low-cut dress.

As for me, though — personally I like to judge costumes by the amount of imagination that went into them, rather than the amount of bosoms falling out of them. A sexy pirate costume can be pretty cool if it is well planned and put together, but the sexy schoolgirl costume is WAY too overdone. I mean, come on, pretty much every high school or college girl has THAT idea!

The moral of the story: Whether or not you decide to dress sexy for Halloween, at least make sure your costume has some substance — figuratively, I mean, as I don’t care if you go naked as Lady Godiva, as long as you’ve put some good imagination into planning it!
